Rescue Vet starts tonight on Animal Planet.

Been having a great time recording the voiceover for the new series Rescue Vet. It premieres tonight at 8pm on Animal Planet (which runs very nicely after Great British Menu on BBC2 7.30pm - 8pm!).

People always say that Brits have a particular passion for their pets - but having seen the comings and goings at the three Vet clinics featured in the series I can honestly say the Yanks give us a run for our money. And perhaps they win in the case of “interesting” pets…. the African Pygmy Hedgehog who has pneumonia being a special case: antibiotics for Erinaceidae? * Much more important than national healthcare for all…. ;)

* The family name for hedgehogs….but you knew that….

Great British Menu goes primetime!

As I continue recording the voiceover for the upcoming series of Great British Menu, I am very excited to announced that BBC2 has decided, after 6 very successful series,  to promote the show to primetime. Yes, from Easter Monday (April 9th) GBM will be broadcasting nightly from 7.30pm. It means we have, of course, tougher competition - including Corrie! - but it takes the show up a peg into the big league. And having been privy to the fun and games to come in this year’s competition, I can confirm it’s deservedly so :).

Mythical Beaches Of The 60s on 4OD

9th March 2012

If, like me, you missed the showing of Mythical Beaches Of The 60s on More 4 a few weeks ago then you can see it again currently on 4OD. It’s got some great footage of the Cote D’Azur and Capri and it all looks like nostalgically washed out holiday pics from your childhood! Oh yes, and I did the voiceover ;)…..

Fatal Attraction TV special on Bio

8th March 2012.

This afternoon took me over AETN - owners of Bio and History - to record the voiceover for a two hour special on the classic thriller Fatal Attraction.

At reception I saw that Jack Bauer was live on Sky News - looking soooo like Daddy - and I was surprisingly excited that he was, at that moment, just round the corner from me….

Back to the special though :) How great to see Michael Douglas, Glenn Close, director Adrian Lyne and others talking about the making of the film over 25 years ago. Did you know they shot a different ending that got scrapped? That 3 time Oscar nominee Glenn Close had to fight to get the part, or that Brian De Palma didn’t think Douglas was right for his role? Some great tales from the production - and the clips made me want to go home and watch the film again - though not on my own…….

Check listings for broadcast details - definitely worth a watch!

Up and running with GBM series 7

I’m up and running with the first sessions for the voiceover for series 7 of Great British Menu. After an afternoon yesterday and a couple of hours this morning at Prime Focus in Soho, we have five shows in the bag. We’ve recorded the Central Region’s shows first - though they won’t be the first to transmit from April 9th. Already I am aware of some shocks and treats for the show’s fans - but I am, of course, saying nothing! ;)

Here’s one of my favourite treats from the last series: Stephanie Moon’s AMAZING table trifle……

Great British Menu

I start recording the voiceover for series 7 of Great British Menu for BBC2 in a couple of weeks. Really looking forward to working with Tanya and the team from Optimen again: last year was a real blast, even if we had a tough schedule working around last minute recording and numerous bank holidays…..Here’s a clip from the last series to whet your appetite: new series transmits from April 9th.
